J’can man who killed three partners, sentenced to 26 years
LONDON, England (CMC) — A Jamaican man who killed three former partners, has been jailed for a minimum of 26 years in the United Kingdom.
The police reported that Theodore Johnson, 64, beat and strangled his ex-girlfriend Angela Best, 51, on December 15, 2016 after she met another man.
Johnson pleaded guilty to murdering Best on the first day of his trial on Tuesday. He already had two manslaughter convictions.
The first was in 1981 when he pushed his wife off a ninth-floor balcony — and in the second incident — he strangled a former partner in 1993.
Johnson met Best while on unescorted leave from a secure mental hospital in 1997.
It’s reported that hours after attacking her in December 2016, Johnson, a garage worker, threw himself in front of an express train.
He lost his right arm and left hand and now uses a wheelchair.
The police discovered Best’s body when they went to Johnson’s flat to find his a relative following the incident at the railway station.
